Absolutely the best film i have ever seen, nothing compares to the cinematography, the acting and the story itself. it's a great piece of art that will live on forever and be a part of cinema history for many more years. I can remember the first time i ever saw this movie, my now late mother showed it to me and told me that it was a really good movie.(this is when it came on HBO i think) i couldn't believe my eyes even at the age of 11 i was already into the best of movies, and when i watched the story unfold in front of me and witnessed the pure cinematography of it. It immediately became my favorite film of all time. And to this day, 17 years later i am a filmmaker myself and someday strive to make a movie half as good as the shawshank redemption.
